The Suites

Three windows on the lake.

Hélène, Lorenzo, and Elia — three suites of the estate, each with its own character, all overlooking the same light.

At Villa Hélène the suites carry the names of those who built, lived in and loved this house — and of those who will continue to care for it.

Hélène, on the piano nobile of the west wing, opens to the lake. Lorenzo follows at the centre, with its silence and its continuity. Elia closes in the east wing, with its independence.

Three identities, three stays — one single estate.

The care of sharing, the openness as choice — values received and preserved, handed down for generations within the walls of this house.

A rarity that is felt before it is said.

— Suite I

Suite Hélène.

The piano nobile. The light of early hours.

The master bedroom opens onto the west wing. Pompeian red walls, an antique walnut-burl marriage bed with its carved footboard, gold damask curtains that lift, in the morning, in front of a French door. Beyond the threshold, the stone arch, a wrought-iron balcony, and all of Lake Iseo.

A small antechamber with the original writing desk, an adjoining room for children, a bathroom with double basin and a chequerboard floor in Verde Alpi marble and beige. The space of a house, the atmosphere of a memory.

— Suite II

Suite Lorenzo.

Its own terrace. The lake in every light.

At the heart of the villa, beyond a private threshold, Suite Lorenzo weaves together bedroom, sitting room and kitchenette in the intimate space of a true home.

Its greatest gift is outdoors: the most generous of the three terraces, suspended over the landscape and oriented exactly where the eye seeks Monte Trentapassi, Monte Isola and the waters of Lake Iseo — in all the light that only the lake can offer, from the gold of morning to the calm of evening. The bathroom, in chequered green Alps and beige marble, echoes the materials of the house.

Suite Elia.

The east wing. Its own threshold.

Suite Elia closes the east wing of the villa. A private stone staircase, overlooking the lake, leads directly to its entrance, without passing through the main body of the house. Inside, a double bedroom with emerald-green walls, antique walnut furniture, a large nineteenth-century wardrobe with a carved pediment. An ivory sitting room opens onto a window of square panes, with the northern shore of Monte Isola in view.

Its own kitchen, bathroom with a chequerboard floor in Verde Alpi marble. And under the exposed stone arch, a covered loggia — the table and the two wrought-iron chairs, the slow hours.
